1911 cadillac wooden body ready to paint

I have a 1911 cadillac that is ready for painting the wooden body. The wood is very dry with a lot of "open pores". The wood is solid. I have read in some forums that some restorers use an epoxy type sealer. The sealer is suppose to soak into the wood and strengthen it. It supposedly gives the wood a good hard surface for paint.

Anyone have any thoughts or words of wisdom?

The local Stanley Steamer guys use a clear two part sealer, that is REAL tough, and produces a great base for finish paint. I'll send you a private email with the name of a fellow that can help you.

Try www.westsystem.com or www.xp2000.com. I have used both products and both provide excellent results.
