Pretty car, but the photos do not show either factory air or tilt-away steering.

Don,
Thanks for calling that to my attention. These cars are from a very large collection and the owner has another person doing the write-ups. If what you say is true, which looking at the window sticker would support then we need to have this rewritten and reevaluated. I'll get to it today.
Thanks,
Kelly

Didn't all the 62 Thunderbirds have the swing away wheel? I thought that was a standard feature on the Thunderbirds.

I am by no means an expert on these cars but can you determine the type of wheel from the picture? I've contacted the owner for clarification and will update the posting as soon as I get word.

Re: 1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
I am no expert either but photos of other cars I have seen show the "Slot" in the dash next to the wheel where the column moves when it tilts away. It may just be an issue of needing more photos that show the dash better.
Kelly, an editorial comment: in order to successfully market collector cars of this caliber to a group like these forum's readers you need to have a high degree of personal detail knowledge on what you are selling. You should never rely on doubtful second or third hand descriptions because errors can come off as misrepresentation which reflects directly on you since your name is the only one seen. This becomes very critical when you are asking the very high prices you are in these ads. Get to know your merchandise better and it will help you connect with your target buyers.

Re: 1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
While I agree with Don I have to commend you on your patience with this group - you have had a lot of constructive criticism and to your credit, kept your cool, Kelly!
In fairness, one of my biggest peeves with a lot of brokers, large dealers and auction houses is a lack of knowledge of their inventory - anyone who follows this stuff has seen a lot worse, it is hard to know about every car to be sure, that may take time..
Good luck with it - for what it's worth, there are a handful of things I think make an "Exceptional Car Broker"
You will eventually need a website, I know only one or two brokers that do not maintain a good site. (Tom Crook comes to mind but his reputation in Packards is all he needs, I think)
Know the product, and as you do, cheerfully update your data if it is wrong.
Be responsive and honest.
Work with your clients on pricing - you cannot always get them to price realistically but that is part of the art of brokering a deal. I think your list, while high is not out of whack compared to some other brokers/dealers out there. Prep your seller on what your assessment is on the true value so they are ready to deal. That is to your benefit in the long run.
Be prompt and accurate with logistics - paperwork, delivery, etc.
Good luck with it -

Re: 1962 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
Guys I really appreciate your advice but I have been successfully brokering exceptional cars for over 6 years. I mainly deal with prewar cars - Bugatti's, Alfa Romeo's, Duesenbergs, Auburn's and the like. I also depend on many specialist in my line of work because, as you pointed out, no one can be an expert on every car. I learn something everyday and that is the beauty of my job. When it comes to these cars - this client has amassed a very large collection in a very short time and has only what the previous owner has told him to go on. For the record this is the first time I've taken on these types of cars so while I am at a disadvantage I welcome the input. I have many, many happy clients that depend on my skills to help them find the right cars for their collections. I bring buyers and sellers together and trust me, before I show a client a 600 thousand dollar car I have done my homework. More times than not the car is not what an owner claims. Sometimes because he is just simply unaware that the car he has purchased is not what he thought and sometimes because the car is actually a fraud. I could tell you stories forever but this is neither the time nor the place. This particular collector has asked me to help him sell his cars. He has given me the write ups and the pictures and I appreciate your help. I do not need a website. I have client's that are very protective of their privacy and their cars and most often it only takes a few phone calls to match a buyer with a seller. I will never ever in my lifetime know everything about every car even though I spend every day of my life learning about them. But to date I have no unhappy clients and many referrals so I am obviously doing something right. Let's keep the subject on the cars.

Maybe so - I could not find your original thread which I think was more general in nature. No matter, it's clear now..
Thanks
