1928 Plymouth wheels/hubcaps/frame/etc
We have a frame from what appears to be a 1928 Plymouth. It has all four wheels on it. These are wire spoke wheels. There are 3 additional wheels too... The brake assemblies are still attached. We also have 3 good condition hubcaps. Not looking to "cash out" just want to make sure these parts go to some one who needs them!!!!

Hello, I am interested in seeing pictures of your chassis and also, where are you located? Thanks, Alan D.

Re: 1928 Plymouth wheels/hubcaps/frame/etc
Something is not right
As you can see: the front hubs have a "new" 5 lug pattern drilled and studs welded. That front axle is not Plymouth as the hubs are wrong and the king pin setup is too bizarre.
One pic of the passenger side front frame rail shows that the front part of the frame was welded onto the main frame. At this point without more pics of the back of the frame, I can't say for sure if the entire frame is Plymouth or not.
Also the rear spring shackle that holds the back part of the front spring is NOT Plymouth, and I am not even sure if the front spring bracket is Plymouth.
It could be the majority of a Plymouth frame, but with an unknown make front axle and front springs....perhaps a front portion of a different make frame that was grafted to a Plymouth. I'd need to see a pic of the rear frame....I think I could tell if it was NOT a Plymouth...if that makes sense.
One pic shows a brake drum and brake backing plate, so I assume that is the rear axle pic? So I guess you have a complete rear axle with both brake drums??
A friend of mine here in Ct has a spare pair of 1930 Plymouth front and rear axles with wire-wheel hubs and drums that "should" interchange/work with those rare wheels you have. I mention that in case an AACA member wants to do a wood-to-wire wheel swap and won't buy yours without the missing front hubs/brake parts.
I still say that those wheels are quite hard to find in any condition, and are very desirable...so please don't get discouraged enough to scrap them
