1909 Stanley Model R Engine.
For sale an original 1909 Stanley engine that fits either a Stanley model R or a model U touring. It is incomplete, what I have is the original frame
In perfect condition I mean perfect condition. There are no
Bends, cracks, welds and the frame has not been cut down. I also have the crank early roller bearing style and the eccentrics and the valve guides.
I also have the connecting rods (one piece) and pistons. Plus other odds and ends. Basically all you need is a new cylinder head which can purchased new. The last model R engine went for over 15,000 iam
Asking 4,500$ because it not complete. Iam a 23 year old trying to
Build my own stanley model 62 and I have to let this one go to buy parts for my car. Please call for more info 626 319-1882 or email me for pictures. Thanks Alex Trepanier.

You might do better posting it on one of the steam car sites, such as

Saw a 31 chevy sedan sell on ebay 3 years ago, with this very same engine. It sold for good $, as the buyer only wtd the steam engine.

No problem Alex-the car went for around 7000. the seller asked if I wtd the 31 parts, because the buyer only wtd the R steam engine. The 31 parts were toast.
Around the same time-Owls Head sold a 1909 R Stanley for about 130k with the wrong engine.
The economy is different today- but supply and demand....
