Mitchell-Bentley Corp.

Does anyone know something about a firm<BR>called. Mitchelle-Bentley Corp.<BR>They made my 1959 LeSabre EsateWagon as<BR>it says so, on the id-plate insted of<BR>"Body by Fischer".<BR>Does they still exist ?<P>Thanks Göran in Sweden

I am familiar with this company. It is now known as the Mitchell Corporation of Owosso Michigan (Lansing area). Unfortunately, the company has recently been sold--so I've heard--and I don't know what will come of it. <P>They have a long history of making station wagon bodies and other low production bodies for many automakers. For instance, they made all of the 56-7 Lincoln Continental MkII bodies. They also modified the bodies used for Packard Carribeans. They made wood bodied wagons for many years.<P>The company has an incredible private museum, but I heard recently that the cars will soon be auctioned off.
