| FS: NOS sun visors, 49-50-51 In the attic of the building that once was the Palmer Motor Co., a 40's/50's Buick dealer in Beresford, South Dakota, were two sun visors, in their original boxes.
This was twenty years ago and the owner (not me) ditched the boxes as they were crisp, and assembled the visors. They are primer green, and have edge clips that fit under the drip rails and a center brace that clamps to the post in the middle of the windshield.
They are two piece, but are different from each other, one being smooth, with a thin stainless center strip, two inches wide, covering the joint, with a stainless lip across the entire front of the visor. It also has two clips that clamp to the center post. The second is noticeably heavier, with a a crease across the length of the visor. The middle of the crease has three rectangular holes (totalling four inches wide) stamped in it, which I assume allows driver and passenger to peer through the visor at a stop light. This visor has only one brace, which clamps to the center post. The stainless center joint cover is about four inches wide. A stainless strip runs across the front of the visor.
I measure the visors at 54 inches, from drip rail to drip rail. Both are dent free, and rust free but the tops are scuffed, but not scratched, from rubbing for twenty years. You gotta sand them for paint anyway.
$200 each.
Thanks. dj...djohnson@bmtc.net |
