Guys
Another brain teaser, one of the guys in the club called me yesterday and said he found a set of 1953 Buick Wire Wheel hubcaps in his garage. He wanted to know if these were desirable at all and what they are worth. He said their in good shape. If anyone is interested I can give you his number.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
Will these fit for a 57. Dad & I have a 57 Century Caballero Station Wagon (4dht). We were talking this week about how a set of wires would look pretty cool on her.
Thanks

Does the center cap have a large "V" surrounded by black or does the center cap have the Buick coat-of-arms? If the former, they were for a Super or Roadmaster, the latter for the Special.

Were these only available one year ie the 53. Were there any produced for 54-56.Maybe same wheel, different centers?. Re the question if they will fit the 57 Wagon...keep in mind the Roadmaster/Special fact. The wheels are different widths and likely won't interchange. I plan to run some on one of my 54's until I can afford wheels.
(BTW I eMailed Fireball several weeks ago about these and never got a reply, they may be gone??)

Re: 1953 Buick Wire Wheel hubcaps

We still have them, he wants $1,200 for the four, they are in excellent shape with the V centers. They were manufactured for one year only the 50th anniversary 1953 Buicks got them. The V signifies the new V8 engine installed in the Supers and roadmasters, they should fit other years as the Buick wheels were the same. Also Special & Roadmaster and all other cars had 15" wheels but there were different tire sizes. If anyone is interested email me and I'll send out some photos steveclassic@earthlink.net

Mr. Earl I did not get an email from you maybe you sent it to someone else. Also I wrote a response in regard to the chassis & body parts books you had and never got a response. Do you want to sell those books? If so how much?
Thanks
Steve

Maybe to give you a bit of a guide, there where 2 sets at the National Meet in Flint, one was NOS for the Roadmaster/Super Series and the other set was absolutely mint. The NOS Set Sold for around $500 the other set a little less.

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty, and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors. But they all have to live in the same box.

Hey Steve,
Sorry I got cornfused...my "email" was actually a reply to this cross post in the General Forum on 9/19 which recieved no reply.I knew I had replied to something. The old memory's not what it use to be.
Don't think I can go the price for the caps but if you have photos that are easy enough to send here is my email. victfarm@bellsouth.net
I had in back of my mind that the roadmaster and super wheels were about 1 inch wider than the special and century. Again thats that ole mind that ain't what it use to be.
About the books, I think my reply to someone else in the forum was that I thought I had paid too much for them and didn't feel good about offering them for what I had in them. but if you insist
The Master Body Parts Book is Models 1940 to 1960 Inclusive, Effective Jan 1961 Has green paper cover and 468 pages incl Supplements.Excellantly and generously illustrated years 1950 thru 1960. Fair/good condition.
The Master Chassis Parts Book is Models 1940 to 1960. 448 pages but NO illustrations, cover is missing. I paid $150 for the pair and would sell them for the same.
If Steve ain't interested, if anyone else is....
