| Re: 1939 Buick Special sedan Guys, this is a really good car at a bargain price. You finish it and be $6,000 ahead at the same time. Four new hubcaps, reupholstered rear quarters and arm rests, new windlace. New rear wiring harness goes with the car if you want to install a new headliner; although the original in the car is pretty good. Oldtime seat covers on the seats.

| Re: 1939 Buick Special sedan Guess I'd better show the other running board too! These running boards are perfect, and the moldings are not reproduction, but NOS. So, I'll throw in a second picture as well. The rear bumper gravel shield's used to be impossible to find in decent shape, but now somebody is reproducing them, and they're just expensive.

| Re: 1939 Buick Special sedan Dynaflash: give it a little time, also consider putting it on EBay. Most cars that I have sold on EBay I have sold after the auction. I know 2 years ago, a lot of cars were going to Europe, and they watch EBay. I would love to have your car, but no space, too much lost in the stock market, and a bleak economc outlook in the country. Best wishes!

| Re: 1939 Buick Special sedan Earl - I have similar advice as Dave. Patience is a virtue. It does look and sound like a great car, it just needs the exposure now. You do have to consider that you are in one corner of the USA and a lot of folks look at that as thousands of dollars to transport, depending where they are. Up here in northern regions, it is the time of year that we are buttoning down and putting the cars away for the winter and storage becomes a premium issue.
I wish you luck selling it. Rather than eBay, Craigslist might be a better route for getting additional exposure. On those sites though, you don't want to sound too desperate...lots of buyers are wary due to the myriad scams out there, so if it sounds too good to be true with a desperate seller, they may back off.

| Re: 1939 Buick Special sedan Dave and Frank: I've had it for sale with a dealer in Frostproof, FL since March. We made the mistake of putting it up for what I have in it and lost the Spring. We probably lost out when it first went on the market, as a Winter resident asked him if he thought I would take $16,000. Maybe we could have pulled that man up about $900 but I held out for $19,000. You live and learn. I hate selling a car, any car. He put it on eBay a couple of times and it got up to $15,100, but since I have to pay him, it was just too much of a beating for me to take.
Until now, it's been in his showroom, out of the weather, so not such a big deal, but I think somebody who isn't a longtime acquaintance like he is will be taking over in another couple of months. Since I just bought a '41 Roadmaster, I don't have a garge space come February, and he hasn't advertised since July. So, I decided I'd better do something myself, or I'll be renting a garage stall.
I've got it in the earliest possible upcoming issue of the Bugle, Hemmings and Antique Automobile. I sell parts on eBay, but have no idea how to sell a car there. I've been updating these ads with the pictues to keep the ad near the top and show off the good parts of the car at the same time.
As for delivery, I just had the Roadmaster brought down here from North Carolina for $650. A big truck was only $750. If someone overseas wanted it, I have a trailer and could get it to Savannah for gas and a motel night.
I guess I'm worrying people doing that, so I'll cut it out if the powers at be think I should. But first, I'll include two more pictures to show that no stone is unturned regarding chrome. This is expensive stuff to do. I left off a RH Grill for a '41 Buick yesterday at the plater, and the cost is going to be $450, and it is going to cost $80 for a trunk ornament base. Nobody can buy an old car and restore it as far as this car has been done for anything like the price I need.
