Wow. This is where I miss Dunham and/or Gustin chiming in on the forum. Someone shoul dbe able to substantiate the story. I also notice NO RESERVE, which may mean a BCA member gets a piece of Buick history. I do find it suspicious or at least curious that no documentation exists.

Re: 1933 Buick on Ebay

That is a very strange one. The tail lights are not 1933 Buick. The dashboard has been customized, with the 1933 gauges moved from the driver's side to the center of the dash, and the glove box has apparently been eliminated. I emailed the seller to ask what series or model # it is, and he replied that there was no firewall data plate that he could find. Would love to know what company did the coachwork.
Not sure what to think of that upholstery in the rear compartment. I know what it reminds me of--another word for a house of ill repute...!

Re: 1933 Buick on Ebay

I googled royal dutch automobiles and found the following... "
In 1908 Prince Hendrik bought a Renault, the first automobile to enter the stables. In the years that followed it would be joined by nine royal limousines from the Amsterdam-based carriage maker Spijker. Between 1925 and the late 1950s, the royal limousines were supplied by Cadillac. After that the Royal House switched to Fords.

At present the official royal limousine is the Volvo S80. The Royal House continue to drive Fords, however, using a variety of models, from the Focus to the Mondeo. Foreign heads of state are chauffeured around in a stretch Lincoln Continental. One thing that all royal automobiles have in common is their colour: they are all blue."

For what it's worth...B

Re: 1933 Buick on Ebay

Another point. If it was built off a Buick chassis in Europe, why did they not import a right hand drive chassis, as I think Buick made them that way during the '30s.

On the other hand, someone put a lot of work into this car.

Interesting car for sure. Stains on interior look to be mold tho. It may be very difficult to get that moldy smell out of it..... Think of all the money one could make with it doing weddings ETC.

Re: 1933 Buick on Ebay

Is it possible that this 1933 Buick has anything with the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge in Arkansas to do.
She was born in 1890 abdikated in 1948 and died in 1962.

Replay to 1939 Buick:

Ah, was Netherlands and all of Europe left hand drive in 1933?
