Would a leaking intake cause a mis in the engine?

Our Reatta occassionally decides to have a mis, where applying more gas pedal increases the RPMs but no noticable acceleration. It looks like the intake may be leaking antifreeze. If its leaking internally too, would that be causing the mis condition too?

Havent look at the manual yet...cant decide whether to replace myself or pay someone.

Re: Would a leaking intake cause a mis in the engine?

If leaking antifreeze internally, it might cause a miss, and it isn't good for the engine internals. The coolant crossover ports are relatively close to the #5 and #6 cylinder intake ports. Even if it did cause a small stumble at idle, it would probably not show up at higher rpm and if the engine revs up as you mention, and doesn't move the car, it sounds unrelated to a coolant leak. Is it losing a noticeable amount of coolant? If the intake has a vacuum leak as well as the coolant leak, it may cause a small loss of power at times, like high load and low rpm.
