I was under the impression that the transmission that you put in was so much better than the stock one, What happened.
My rebiult stock transmission will light up the tires on most surfaces.

    Re: Tranny issues

The tranny is the OEM that came behind the series one supercharged and early series two. Did I mention the tranny only had 50k on it. It was a Goodwrench rebuild.
It look pretty bad but I think Recian had it pretty close to right. This is only the differential housing. I am going to pull one from the yard today and see it it is repairable without pulling the tranny. Also if it is not too hard of a job I will be ordering the LSD for it in the near future.

    Re: Tranny issues

from the pics the bolt that holds the big wrist pin for the spider gears sheered off. Theyre usually lock-tite'd in so they shouldnt back out. It should be doable without pulling the tranny out. Just depends what's on the other side holding the carrier in

I have a friend who will harden up a stock Reatta transmission so you can do burn-outs all day if you wish. He worked for GM making hardened parts fo thier transmissions.

I will ask him when I see him. I do know that everyone is different depending on what you want to do with it.
He startes with the diff and axels and works his way inside.
Let me know what you want it to do and I'll ask him the next time I see him.

As long as the burnout keeps on going and both tires are spinning you are fine. It is when just one tire is spinning and then grabs that things go kerpow.

Here is the final damage. I already put a new end cover. differential, final drive shaft, and final drive gear. I only needed the diff but did not want to chance anything being broke out of sight. I do not khow what caused it. but seems fine now.

Total time was 3 hours with out interuptions. This has also got me thinking sereously about getting an LSD for it.
