    thermostat

    Have a '90 with a thermostat that I believe is stuck open. I am going to replace but am looking for suggestions. What temperature 180, 195 etc and should a buy a delco or some other brand? Any hints or tricks to know?

    I have been using a Stant "Superstat" 180F in all of our computer cars. Find that both the batteries and everything rubber in the engine compartment last longer with a cooler running engine also.

    Of course for best results you need to reset the fans to come on earlier as well.

    i have a 1989 with 200k on it.
    using oem thermostat 195
    no problems at all.
    another 200k and may let it go.
