sun visors

how did anyone out there repair their flop
sun visors. i have a 88 that i am restoring and find the visors have no support on the ends. they droop down on both the drivers and passenger side. i am thinking of removing the floppy ends by cutting the cloth where the two visor boards meet and resewing the cloth less the short end closest to the doors.
has anyone done this or do you have other fixes. the history in this forum is of little help on this subject.
Jerry
Re: sun visors

Several years ago I sent two sun visors into a place that specialized in repairing them. These were not Reatta visors but were equally weird. I can't remember who it was that did them but they did a good job and the cost was surprisingly reasonable. You might do a search in google.com or perhaps ask on this site if someone has good visors in a car they're parting out.

Re: sun visors

I had mine restored at an outfit in Huntington Beach, CA called Acme Auto Upholstery. As I recall it was around $125 for both.
