Runs like a top. Can this be ???

1990 convertible. Car just would die, engine and all electrical. No error codes, fuel pump psi is good, changed filter. Other members suggested crank positioning sensor or ignition module. All we changed was the ignition key, no problem since. Could the chip in the key have cause this problem or am I getting fooled by some other intermittent bad component. Thanks again, Frank.

If it dies after you come off the hiway and stop at a light it maybe the IAC.
If it dies at any time without warning that could be the ignition module.

Secondary ignition (coilpack, plug wires, plugs) will not set any codes but rarely kill engine. Crank sensor may not set code but rarely heals. Ignition module can fail hot and work cold.

If it were here, I'd just toss a Delco onnit and see what happens.
