Re: REPLACEMENT CARPET !
Danny....if these are the same guys,(Dalton GA) they have changed religions.
I talked with them in 2001 about mats and the only color they could match was burgundy. They made a sample from an original mat and the "R" logo was 150% the correct size. At the 2002 Las Vegas SEMA show they claimed to have the rear mold (Jim Finn supplied them with the rear shelf) but they never molded the storage areas into the pattern. It was obvious from my contacts that they either were not interested or were operating with the IQ somewhere below high school drop-out level.
With lots of pressure from Domenick Clemente and a sales rep in NY, they finally molded the rear storage areas and ran a lot of tan carpet. You have not made a "discovery", you have stumbled over a dead body. Be very careful because you will put forth lots of effort and they will "screw-up" another project.
Its great that you are interested in helping Reatta people find a solution to their carpet replacement problems, but I don't know how these people stay in business.

Re: REPLACEMENT CARPET !
Aah, another thunk-to-the-side-of-the-head reality check. Reminiscent of my $1,000 fiasco, laying up fiberglass over a mold trying to produce an economically feasible hardtop. Anyone want a one-off top, complete with Cougar rear window -- but no latches, headliner or weatherstripping?

Re: REPLACEMENT CARPET !
Barney , We may or may not be talking about the same company but I'd sure like to find out . I do know that there is at least one other company and maybe more in Dalton , Ga that manufactures molded auto carpet after all that's "The Carpet Capitol of the World". I'm not sure that the company I'm dealing with has ever been in the business of manufacturing floor mats but I don't think they have . This is a very large company whose only business is "Molded Auto Carpet" , they ship "world wide" and they are strictly wholesale only . I'm inclined to think this is not the company you had dealings with and I base that opinion on the fact that I was told that they made their molds from a local residents Reatta and didn't know what I was talking about when I mentioned "a problem" they might have had getting the storage area openings made so they "rolled" over and down into the opening . Do you recall the name of the company you had dealings with ? If you do , please tell me because I , like you said , sure would hate to waste a bunch of time . I sincerely appreciate and respect your input into this matter and appreciate your interest in & devotion to the "Reatta" club.

PS: Did you get the info I sent on the "new" Reatta for the Database ?

Hey Spongebob-
The Reatta Dudes have produced new, reproduction interior door panels. www.buickreattaparts.com .
I'm pretty sure they'd prefer more conventional forms of payment though...
