The range on my remote is near nothing. I started looking (info from another post) at the connection point (like 9 volt battery) and found the problem. One on the connectiors has separated from the rear window. It is attached to the clip on part that goes to the remote entry box behind the seat. My question is are there just glued on, can a replacement be obtained and if so how are they installed to the window??

I had the same problem with my '89. There needs to be a metal to metal contact between the two pieces so glueing will not work. I scraped both parts clean and soldered them with a soldering iron. I was a little nervous about soldering on the glass especially because there was tint film on it, but I was careful not to get it too hot. It worked great. Good luck.

Unless someone knows about some conductive epoxy, they need to be resoldered.

I found low-temp solder at Radio-Shack and used that.

I have had occasion to repair poor glass-metal connections with a silver bearing material used to repair PC boards. It is made by Circuit Works #CW2200STP, and is called "conductive pen". It claims to be solderable at low temps. It is much like a sliver bearing glue. Available at electronics shops. The company is ITW Chemtronics, 8125 Cobb Center Dr., Kennesaw, GA 30152-4386, ph 800-645-5244.

I wonder if this might be usable for repairs of the heating traces on rear window defoggers also?
