Reatta's with electronic level control?????

I have a total of 12 Reattas, 6 of which are parts cars and I was talking to a person in Chicago who has a Reatta with the Electronic Level Control in it. He has the complete system with the compressor mounted on the axle and the light on the IPC telling him when the pump is running. None of my cars have this option and I have never seen it on any others. I was under the impression that this was a Riviera only option but now we are wondering if it was also available on Reattas.
I have several Reatta parts cars with very reasonable prices.

Direct email works best for me as opposed to PMs and phone calls.

Re: Reatta's with electronic level control?????

There is no record of Buick offering the self leveling on the Reatta. There is probably a good reason, since there was no back seat for extra weight of passangers and trailer towing was listed as not recommended.
While GM might have built one for "grins" that is not likely for the reasons above.
I would imagine some owner had it custom installed.
------------------
Barney Eaton Reatta technical advisor for BCA and keeper of the Reatta database.

In addition to what Barney posted, there was no mention of an Auto Level option for Reatta in any of the FSMs or Parts Books.

I notice on my dash along side my other lights (somewhere near the "halogen lights" area), there's a part that reads "Car is Leveling". What does that mean? I've never seen it actually light up, but its there.

My guess is that is because the same insturment panel was used for the Reatta dn the Rivera like several other parts.

I have an 88, and it has a "car is leveling" light sign on the dash right next to the cruise/resume lights. When the car first starts up....and it lights all lights up..and counts to 10... that "car is leveling" lights up too. But I immediately attempted to make it level the car when I first noticed it. It didn't level the car, nor did it light up. I figured, as others above did, that it was used on the Riviera. I havn't yet craned my neck under the wheel wells good enough to see if the struts have hydraulics hooked to them. But I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

Our 1988 Reatta has the Riviera Shocks, though one has to make a trip to the gas station to fill the air as the Reatta's suspension hardens, and softens depending on the air in the shocks. The place to fill the air is a valve located near the rear number plate. It is quite neat.
It looks very original, though I don't know perhaps the previous owner may have had this custom installed.

Re: Reatta's with electronic level control?????

Back before I had any parts cars I too went to a junk yard and purchased a set of air shocks from a Riviera and put them on my car. I put some valve stem adapters on and filled them with a little air and it worked good. The person I was talking to in Chicago, I believe said he purchased the car new, and still has it. He said when he turns on the key the light on the dash comes on and stays on until the compressor shuts off.
I know the IPCs are the same but I wouldn't think the wiring would be in place to run the compressor and turn on the dash light unless it was from the factory, or someone went to a lot of trouble to install the wiring.
Now on a seperate post I'm going to ask about heated mirrors?

When I first got my 89 the same thing happened. The "car is leveling light would come on for a few seconds after starting the car. I thought the car was actually leveling. But for two years now the light hasn't lit.
