    Question for Barney

In the 400 point judging would there be a deduction for having the Reatta pin stripe protected by a clear coat. I am having Black Beauty repainted because of all the checking and crazing in the paint and am considering having the stripes painted prior to clear coating.

    Re: Question for Barney

I don't think the Reatta judges have the time to check that much detail. The exterior judge has about 10 minutes to look at everything on the exterior and mark the judging sheet. The judge will look for correct size and location of stripes. There is no deduction if they are tape, as tape stripes were Buicks solution to repairs when the car was wrecked.
