Opening the hood causes fuse 2 to blow

When I open the hood, fuse number 2 blows. Does anyone know how to fix that?

Does it do it if the lights are off?

Only wire in the hood is for the light which is only hot when the parking lights are on.

Does it blow when the release is popped under the dash or only when it is actually raised?

Look around the latch and hinges for a wire that is being pinched.

It does it when the lights are off and when the release is popped under the dash (not when it is acutally raised).

Take off the under dash knee bolster below the steering wheel and look up around the release lever for a wire that may be getting pinched.

You were exactly right - there were some wires trapped under the lever that were getting pinched. The insulation was worn off and there were some bare wires. Thanks a lot for your input!
