Ok now I am confused

We recently went on a trip and my inlaw's watched the house for us. 2nd day we were gone right at 3pm the car alarm went off and he got worried so he unhooked the battery. We got home the other day and the battery was hooked back up again and so far no alarm going off. Yesterday I decided to take the car to a shop to have the A/C looked at because it wasn't working and the service A/C light was on. Well guess what the light was off and the A/C works like its new. I drove the car around 50 miles highway and city and it has not missed a beat. Am I going to regret not having it looked at anyway or will this be alright

Re: Ok now I am confused

You should be ok. Disconnecting the battery resets the computer. You probably had the A/C on when it was cool out, and the Freon pressure was low (because it was cold out), and it set an error message. Now, you COULD be a little low on Freon. If so, the A/C light will come back.

As for the alarm, don't have a clue.

If you have any further problems, have your inlaw stay again.

Seriously, you probably are OK. FYI, if you have an 88 or 89, I kept A/C set to economy till it's needed. S.D. sounds like you were in that area where the system has issues with temp not being high enough to need A/C yet.
