O2 Sensor
Since late 2005, I've had a number of problems with my Reatta. The issues seem to have started with a failed harmonic balancer and went on from there. The balancer had to be replaced twice, as did the Crank Position Sensor! Next the cam gear set and Can Sensor. After having the car out of service for over six months, I was back on the road. Now new ills have started. The Service Engine Light is now coming on at times. There is no rhyme or reason. Any speed, any turn, any hill. It just comes on for a while, the off just as suddenly. The codes being set, but not at the same time, are E013 and E044. All having to do with the O2 sensor. This item was replaced when all of the other work was done. I now have installed yet another O2 sensor, checked the connections at the sensor pigtail. In addition, I've checked to see if the connections are secure at the ECM. I've swapped the ECM for an extra I got from Jim. No change. To make matters worse, the car is getting only 12-14 MPG. It will not go 300 miles on a fill-up. I've also noted that the car is not going into LOOP mode, once everything is warmed up. I think that why the car is getting sure poor gas mileage. The Reatta is running great. No miss, no slow starts ect. If it were not for the SES light and the poor MPG, I would not think anything was wrong. I want to try to resolve this problem myself before being taken to the cleaners again at a shop. Any thoughts?

Re: O2 Sensor
My 88 was not going into LOOP as well but it also gave me an error code that pointed to the O2 sensor (don't remember what it was now). I changed the sensor and that took care of things ... went into LOOP and no error codes. It also eliminated a rich mixiture burning smell at the exhaust, so I think the mileage must have improved but I never checked that.
