New headlamps - how hard are they to change? (good price too!)

I feel like a bad forum member - I got new silverstar headlamps for my Reatta on Sunday (it's now Friday) and didn't inform - they were 50% off at Meijer(all silvania lighting was 50% off). However I'm a bit apprehensive about changing them because of the flip up lights, how hard is it to do? Think I need to adjust the lights as well, how hard is that to do?

Thanks,
Dan

No real difficulty in changing the headlights. Manually crank up the headlights. You'll need the right size star screwdrive to remove and the 4 screws holding the plastic frame, then 4 phillips head screws hold the chrome frame. Then the headlight comes right out. If you don't accidentally turn the wrong (headlight aiming)screws (I've done that) you won't have to readjust your headlights.

I managed to do it, wasn't that difficult. The main point I guess is if you want discounted lamps go to Meijer - got some parking/turn lamps as well - can't beat 50% off! The sale is over tomorrow I think....(3/6/04)

Spray a little WD-40 on screws before you try and remove the screws.

While you're there would be a good time to tighten the nut on the cam that opens the headlights.

Are they 1/2 as good as they say they are?

I don't know what you prefer, and I'd probably like something else, but they're better than what was on the car so I'm happy..=)
