Longer Front Brake Hoses
I converted to the Camaro SS front calipers/rotors, but was able to use the stock brake hose. I am not happy with the stress on the brake hoses at full turns. The inlet on the Camaro Caliper is farther away from the junction of the brake line and brake hose in the fender well. I would like to get longer brake hoses [the stock Camaro is actually shorter than ours]. I suspect any GM brake hose will have the same connection at the brake line, and probably the same block at the banjo bolt. Anyone have an idea what make, year, model might have a longer and fit our cars?

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
Have them made from a brake shop. Have them use braided steel line, and bring them the originalls. They should be able to reuse the original brackets. Also the price will/should not be much more than buying OEM hoses.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
Daniel, I am seeing about $32 for both fronts. Do you have any idea on how that compares to custom made? Seems I remember seeing a post that priced a custom hose at about $40 apiece.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
I had 3 braided metal hoses 2 ft long made for $65, these did not include pressing on a bracket, but I am sure that it would not add too much cost to the project. I would at least look into it. There is a whole lot of flex in my front hoses while using the camarro calipers. I will be upgrading to the braided hose shortly after working out the kinks in the complete camarro swap.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
That sounds pretty fair. How long are you thinking would be ideal for this conversion, Daniel? The stock hose is right at 18", though as I recall both sides are different.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
I am not sure of the exact length. I would do a mock up with the original and a stiff wire. Wrap the wire around the banjo bolt end and see how much longer the wire is than the original. I say use the wire because you sould be able to get a good idea of the path that the hose will have to take. Also make sure to put a bit of pressure on the control arm to ensure full extention. I would not imagine the hose will have to be much more than 3 inches longer, but that is a just a shot in the dark.

Re: Longer Front Brake Hoses
I used a 21 inch SS/teflon hose from Inline Tube.com.
I spread the old brackets and used rubber door hinge protecters from a new prehung door from Lowes to mount the new hoses in the old brackets.
Also the hoses connect directly to 15 degree GM banjo fittings, also had to buy two fittings to adapt and anchor the steel iso lines to body clips and the AN female on the SS/teflon hoses
