Lawn maintinence destroyed my new paint job!

I live in a small condo complex, six buildings with six homes in each. The lawn guys just got one of those huge riding lawn mowers and where a 20 inch push mower was fine they tried to use this machine and the guy lost control and ran over one of those six foot long park stops and the pieces of concrete were discharged at the front and drivers side of my Reatta. At first he tried to say that it was not his fault (in broken english) I got hold of the owner and told him that not only would he lose the contract but would be sued by our lawyers for damages. I went to the shop who did such a great job back in May and got an estimate for $748.00 plus $30.00 a day for a rental econobox and they agreed to cover all costs. The shop says it will look like new again, they may just block sand and re-paint the whole car. AARRGGHHH!!

Incredible! The guy who did he damage actually knew some English! What is Miami coming to! Next you'll be telling me you saw a billboard with English writing in the city limits. All facetiousness aside good look on your repairs. I feel your pain!

Richard,

Every friday the "landscapers" come to my house and every other week they edge the lawn. Tufts of grass and mud all over the hood of my white car. I haver learned not to wash it on thursday.

It is a good thing you caught them or they would have denied it to their grave. Mon Dios!

I cut my own grass and change my own oil...... in the long run it actually saves time.

Re: Lawn maintinence destroyed my new paint job!

I heard the machine hit the concrete park stop, it made a very loud noise. It also did a lot of damage to the machine that had maybe one hour of use since the landscape company bought it. Those stops have rebar inside and it destroyed the blades and maybe the drive system. Had I not been home I bet that it would have been put on it's trailer and hauled out of here. Once the car is repaired I think the board should look for another lawn maintenance company.

Must be paid by the job (ever see the Laurel and Hardy where they were painters ?)

Yes! And they are in fact paid by the job, at least here. They may have other contracts where they are paid a flat rate per month. But here this time of the year the grass gets wild after two weeks and in the winter months once a month is fine. Probably the same for you too Padgett, yes?
