hotel room for july

hello,iam a new reatta owner and am attempting to attend my first reatta rondevous and am finding it difficult to do.on my first attempt to book a room i was told that there was a 3 night minimum.i spoke with kathy at the host reatta and was told then that i could call back at the beginning of april and there would be a chance that a booking could be done for the couple of nights that i needed[wed.thurs].i booked a room for the thursday earlier this week with a man named ron at the hotel.he just called me and said that he was told that he had to cancel my reservation by someone from the reatta club.that is very frustrating because some of us have to work.surely i can't be the only one that needs a room for a night or two.this policy surely does not encourage all members to try to attend at least some part of the rondevous.yes i know i could stay some where else ....but that seems to take the interest out of attending.i might as well stay in canada and commute for the couple of days that i can attend.is it possible that somebody would need a room for wed.,thurs......and somebody else would need a room for just the saturday or just the friday.just a rant to try to understand the inflexibility......or is there a bigger picture that i do not see????? gryfan 1990 red tan canada

First I am only a member of the Reatta Division and not an officer, and don't have anything to do with the Rendezvous.

The problem in Flint that week is the city as well as the Buick club is involved in the GM 100th celebration. I have heard that all the major hotels have the 3 day minumen.

The Windgate that the Reatta Division has reserved also has contracts with airlines and the GM Service Parts Headquaters that is out their back door. It is the hotels that have caused the problem, it is called GREED

If your cancellation has anything to do with the Reatta club, it is because your name is not on the membership list.
The agreement that was made with the hotel, stated they would only make reservations for Reatta club members and were given a list of members. If you have joined the club recently, you need to contact Bob Neumann @ 810 655 4202

barney,thanks for responding.....my name is on the list .....the reservation was taken ......then ron who took the reservation stated that he was informed by someone at the reatta club that a three night minimum was at the request of the reatta club.it is possible that the hotel is playing games ...ie greed.i hope someone at the executive,who can shed light on this will post some more information.again barney ,thanks for your help ....you are a scholar and a gentleman....as are most of the fellow reatta owners i have had the pleasure of dealing with. gryfan 1990 coupe red/tan canada
