    Heater fan

My heater/AC fan runs contunuously and cannot be turned off. I unplugged it under the hood on the unit itself. Do I need a new fan motor or switch- or what? [color:"red"] [/color]

Ghost in the machine or . . .

    Your fan control electronic module has likely failed. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/image...ins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/image...ins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/image...mlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/image...mlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

Find it located under the hood of the car mounted in the top of the air conditioner evaporator housing by the firewall. It is app 3" long 1/2" thick and extends another 3.5" to 4.5" inches into the plenum.

If it's stuck in high speed check the relays (not sure which one) mounted on the firewall, one has most likely stuck, and needs replacing..

Thanks for your information. I'm checking for the ghost last!
Do you have a source for Reatta parts? I have a good source for brakes.

Suspect you need to look at the power module which is more of a silver box than a relay. 88 FSM 1C-23 "If blower runs with key off, replace power module".

Is mounted on top of blower housing under hood and toward passenger side from blower motor.

Is amazing just how many "modules" are in a Reatta, every time it appears that a complete set has been collected, another one appears. The ten silver boxes are just the big ones.

The silver part is INSIDE the plenum, it's the heatsink. The outside, the part you see standing there, is black plastic. Has two wiring connectors, in the plenum, behind the power steering pump. Held in with three 7 mm head hex sheet metal screws.

    Re: Heater fan

I have several Reatta and '88-92 Riviera parts cars and have sold quite a few of the power modules, they seem to go bad often. I can be reached at
    jfinn@cpinternet.com
I have several Reatta parts cars with very reasonable prices.

Direct email works best for me as opposed to PMs and phone calls.
