    Exhaust tips...

I would like to slip on either chrome or stainless exhaust
tips keeping the same downward angle but so far I have
not found any tips that would allow me to do so. My
searches have resulted in exhaust tips that slip over a
straight exhaust only. I would rather not cut the
existing exhaust outlets. Any help or ideas would be
    appreciated.

go to dual exhaust! I have much cooler tips now. they are bigger and have the baffles inside them...they changed the whole exhaust note!

    Re: Exhaust tips...

I bought 2 exhaust tips for my 88. They look great. Just slipped them over the factory exhaust and screwed them in from the bottom.

Buy good tips though. We had some on Maui and they were pretty rusty within a month. It was driven a couple times, no rain, and always stored indoors if not being driven.

If you have factory exhaust system, the pipes are stainless. With some elbow grease, sandpaper and polishing compound you can have the tips you desire.

I did it the lazy way, used a little chrome spray paint, looks almost brand new, just re-spray every month or two. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

    Re: Exhaust tips...

Thanks. I didn't think they were a stainless or chrome finish. Both mine are black.

Thank you, Barney. I just didn't think it through.
I'll take care of it this weekend. Now, where did
I put that can of elbow grease....
