    Delrin bushings

I just bought two sets of bushings for my '89 to try and cure the slow driver's side light. How big a job is this going to be to change out the bushings?? I'm not a mechanic in any sense of the word so if it is not really easy OR I can't possibly goof things up beyond repair, I am not going to try it. I am, however, getting a little tired of having them permanently up (I set them up for the winter so they wouldn't freeze down beyond the capacity of my weak raising system). Thanks.

Reatta Brakes, Teves, except 1991, are excellent but somewhat complicated.

    Re: Delrin bushings

    Note well:

They are selling "Rebuilt" motors, not "used". They are also demanding a $50 core charge per motor. 9 times out of 10, they are legit, and a great buy at that price, but just make sure you read the fine print, folks.

I just bought some bushings too and got them in the mail yesterday. They were $5.95 a set and $3.95 s/h (1 set or 100 sets, same price) from Jason Murphy at banditnga@yahoo.com. (The name's scary, I know, but he's on the level). He accepts paypal, so you don't have to give you CC #. I'd greatly advise against giving any individual your credit card #'s over the net, especially right now. There're a lot of scams running, right now; more than usual.

I was shown how to diassemble/reassemble the motor, but I'd advise (HEAVILY) asking Barney if there's anything we need to know before we try and for instructions, if you need them. He rebuilds them. I took the screws out of one at the junkyard when Kennyw was showing me what to do, and I learned one thing, for sure.

Be VERY, EXTRA CAREFUL when unscrewing and screwing the casing that houses the bushings. The screws are very delicate and will shred, break, or strip easily. I'd advise having some penetrating oil on it a bit before trying to disassemble.

    Good luck to us both.
