hello i am new to the post but find it very incitefull/first off
i am having a problem with my car not wanting to stay runningif the mass air fuel sensor is connected if it is dissconected everything runs of course i get crappy milage but curious if anything other than the MAFS could be the problem?
2)has anyone had any experience with changing the accesory pullies to aluminum lighter ones?
3)my car is making a banging noise when i accelerate and sometimes when i am just sitting at a light when i looked at the engine and pushed the throttle lever the engine moved towards the firewall the dog bone is also sitting at a angle i am sure i have a busted mount but not sure which one i have busted do not want to get taken to the cleaners so any help is appreciated
    4) anyone got any thoughts on what type of mount i should use? hydraulic/normal/polyurethane?

    thank you for your time

I don't consider the Reatta to have a high performance engine.

A lighter pulley is not all that important. What is important though is their diameter. By using a smaller diameter crank pulley combined with larger diameter accessory pulleys you turn the accessories fewer rpms and therefore reduce the parasitic horsepower loss. This in turn leaves more HP at the front wheels. Go too far and the air will not be cool and the battery will not be charged and the power steering will be stiff.

If the hose connecting the air cleaner and throttle body
has a hole or rip in it it would cause the engine to run
poorly. Disconnecting the sensor makes the computer operate
in 'failsafe' or 'limp home' mode. This would also cause poor
    gas mileage.
The banging noise could be the harmonic balancer on the crank.
If you can move 'rotate' the belt about a half inch or more
then look at the crank. You will see that the pull part is moving.
You should replace if before it damages the crank sensor.
