There are several "ideas" some work better than other. We may be 4-5 years ahead of you so you can gain from our experience.
(1) at www.reatta.net you will find a headlight repair procedure that I wrote about 2000. there is a sketch of a"washer" fix....don't waste your time.
(2) I later made a bracket fix, it worked much better. The problem with anything added to the existing bellcrank, is the loss of threads for the nut.
So if you add a .062 thick bracket, you loose that dimension and the lock nut will not lock.
(3) some people drill and tap a hole through the bellcrank and install set screws from both sides. This will work but there is lots of torque on the bellcrank and it will eventually damage the motor shaft.
(4) others have pinned the bellcrank to the motor shaft. This will work but if you ever need to replace the motor rollers, then the pin must be removed and the old pin will never fit the same, so you might need to increse the pin size.
(5) The steel bellcrank that I am selling is a very good solution. The steel is extruded at the motor shaft, giving almost 1/4 inch of contact. It is easy to install and remove with hand tools so the average guy can handle the job.
I suspect they will last as long as the car.

Barney's bell cranks are the only answer. Have them on 3 of my cars. They work perfectly.
