Alarm keeps arming itself.
I am having a problem with my alarm system. It keeps arming itself. Example; Open drivers side door and close, reopen same door and alarm goes off. it will disarm with the remote or the key, but continues to rearm itself every time the doors are closed and opened.
Help, it's driving me nuts. (and not far to go)
Jo0n.

Any problems with the locking switch in the door?

No, The key switch will shut the system off as will the remote.

Ever any issues with the splices under the seats. Somehow an arming command is getting to the alarm module. Supposed to come from the lock switch on a door or the keyless remote.

No problems so far with the wire.

So if I understand correctly, you open the door, exit the car, close the door but don't lock it, then when you return and open the door again the alarm sounds.

That is correct. You can close it and open it right away and the alarm sounds. (Horn & Lights)

Re: Alarm keeps arming itself.
Are you sure your car isn't just telling you how much it misses you when you leave it?
Maybe it is feeling neglected.
Arming signals travel in Light Blue wires, and there is a splice under the driver's seat. The hardware involved is the theft module, keyless entry module and the power door lock switches in each door.
A decent current leaking onto those light blue wires should be trying to operate the door locking solenoids and make a some noise doing so. So I'm guessing you have a small current leaking into those wires from faulty contacts in a door switch, thru an exposed splice under the seat or a bad keyless entry or theft module.
Checking for voltage on the Lt Blue wire at the theft module (pin G) would confirm the presence of an erroneous arm signal.
If you disconnect connector C200 on the passenger's side and it goes away, problem is more likely in the car wiring, not the module.
Good luck!

Your right, I don't drive it enough. I'll get out there and sit in ity some more. Thanks.
Your talking about the unit behind the driver's seat correct?

Re: Alarm keeps arming itself.
That's the keyless entry module. You could check for the arming signal there too though. It's the Lt Blue wire at pin C-3 on it. The theft module is under the dash driver's side. Not so much fun to get to.
