Reatta Brakes, Teves, except 1991, are excellent but somewhat complicated.
At site below there are Tests that will identify most any problem you have! Test results? HTTP://www.reatta.net

What a great answer, I'm sure that helps Wally a lot
Would be glad to try to help but '91s are different from '90 which is different from '88 which is what I have.
That said, the first question is "does the '91 have display capability beyond a blinking SES light or does that require a SCAN tool ?"
In that case, to dump any stored trouble codes, you need a paper clip to jumper A to B on the assembly Line Data Link (ALDL - described in 6E3-9 of the 88 FSM or see the web link below)
On my 88 the ALDL is next to the parking brake & has a cover plug marked "do not remove". If the '91 ALDL has a plain or no cover then you will need a scan tool to do any more than dump the trouble codes.
Note: Reattas use a "P4" ECM system so a tool designed for earlier "C3" or "CCC" (Computer Comand Control) ECMs will not work properly.
In addition, 88-90 Reattas are "C" engine codes, only the '91 is an "L". Input the wrong code into the scan device and you will probably be rewarded with "No Data".
If you ise the paper clip method, count the SES light blinks - will be in two digits, each pair repeated three times so it takes a while. For example: blink pause blink blink pause blink pause blink blink, etc. is a 12 which means "no worries". If there are other series following the three 12s, such as blink blink, pause, blink blink blink blink (24) there are stored problems. Each will send its code three times and than will go to the next stored code. The most I have seem were three codes following the "12". Be patient. YMMV.
Better than a paper clip are two .110" spade terminals on a short piece of #22 wire.
Scan tools will tell you a lot more - for GM cars through 1993, I like the OTC 2000 which is a handy size, relatively cheap since last cartrige available was for 1993 (if buying make sure which it has - 1993 "3in1" is most comprehensive but also takes the longest to set up.
To look at all sensors at once you need either the special cable to connect the OTC to a PC or something like the DIACOM software (plug - www.rinda.com), I have been using since 1990 and very handy for troubleshooting DFI add-ons such as to a GMC motor home.
Suppose this really should be a FAQ somewhere since it gets asked A Lot.
Start here: http://www.techweasel.com/articles/t.../GM.htm
[ 07-15-2001: Message edited by: padgett ]
