I don't want to hijack a previous post and this is a long shot, but.....My 88 had a remote starter and lock system installed, but of course they couldn't find the activator when I purchased the car. I tore it all out as it was installed with cut, splice and tape with no solder. I figured it would cut down on figuring out whatever gremlins might come along. I now have a car where the alarm is activated when the passenger door is opened, locked and then closed....however, the driver's door cannot be locked. Makes it a little too easy for the car thief. Anyone with experience know if a wire was cut, probably to the door locks, that needs to be reattached to make the alarm functional without a remote starter or lock system?
