Even if you get the electronics right, how well would the Reatta transmission/transaxle handle the torque load from the more powerful engine? Seems to me it could be expensive to find out the hard way.

The trany is the same, just upgraded for the Cadys. I would just upgrade with the whole cradle engine and all.

Re: 4.9 Cadillac V-8 Reatta on Craigslist

My brother has a cad with the 4.9 and he gets 30 mpg on the hwy all the time. His transmission is going out right now so I may end up with the engine from him, but I have both a 85 Fiero Gt and a 82 X-11 that would really love that engine.

Re: 4.9 Cadillac V-8 Reatta on Craigslist

I am using a 5 speed out of a 3800 Camaro. The only real manufacturing will be the fly wheel and mounts. I wanted to use the 3800 SC engine, but the intake is too much of a mod to overcome for me.

I know a 350 would be easier, but I kind of like odd things, and this will be one of the oddest I have ran into.
