That is so cool! *It almost became an option! 708 FT LBs TORQUE at 2900 RPM!! Rumor has it the drive line department "breathed a sigh of relief" when it was shelved.
* Hot Rod magazine
I worked in the lab when we ran that thing.We Made many power runs with it with different settings. It was a 425 cu.in.

Oldgsnut, so how about some details! What was the Comp ratio, I understand it had two Corvair carbs, is this true, I can't believe they would be big enough. You just teased us. How about the other experimental Buick motors?
Can anyone give more details about this
motor? "Oldgsnut", what do you know about
this engine? I agree with "MARTINSR", please
tell us what you know. I heard that the
carbs were dual "side drafts" similiar to the
1953 Corvette 235 inline six.
Thanks,
Marty

IF anyone is interested, there is a turbo-charged 1948 Buick Super sedan for sale in the Dallas area. It is in the current issue of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Auto Trader magazine. I have no connection with the car or the owner, but have seen it at area car shows. It has the original straight-8 with what looks like a professionally installed turbo-charger underneath a 4-barrel carburetor. All of this fits under the stock hood, and the car looks totally stock from the outside. The asking price is kind of high as I recall, but I'll be glad to look it up if anyone wants the owner's phone number.
Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
Ector, Texas
pphillips@netexas.net
