Are the spark advance and throttle quadrant levers on a 1923 Buick supposed to have a friction device to hold them in place? It looks like there is a pocket for a spring and pin that could rub on the quadrant ring but mine are empty. Am I missing something?<P>------------------<BR>Craig H<BR>BCA #37372

According to the'24 Buick parts book the spark/throttle levers should have a friction shoe and spring. I cannot tell you the material they are made of but will do some more research and try to get back with you.

I never checked carefully but they look like leather to me. Leather would probably work o.k. until you found something more correct.
