    Retro Fitting airconditioning on 1950s Buicks

    Do any of the members have experience retro fitting airconditioners to 6volt Buicks?

    This could be eihter an under dash unit from the 40s/50s or modified new units.

    it's not that hard to hookup a compressor to your engine, add a condenser in front of the raditor, and hange the blower under the dash. The 6v would run the fan, but a 6v comprssor clutch, hard item to find if exists at all.

    All car were 12v when cadillac started A/C in 1955.

    The 1953 and up, were all 12V.

    Anything older would have electrical draining issues, and overheating problem.

    If you want a car with air, go to the late '50's, it's easier.
