    new member!

Hi all, I'm new to the forum but not the hobby. I just purchased a 1925 Buick model 25 touring (standard six). Its my first "really old" car, but i have had everythign from a 48 Chevy to a 1991 Corvette, so I'm pretty excited. I'm glad I fond this forum because i'm sure I'm going to have tons of questions in the next few months gettnig this car back on the road. Its in good shape and pretty solid and the previous owner started a restoration. the interior, top and engine are all new, but it needs paint and some work to make it run better. how the heck does a vacum tank work?!? Anyway, i just wanted to introduce myself and say that i'm glad to be here.

Welcome to the Buick Club of America forums, 25Buick25! We're glad you're here, and look forward to all of your questions. You've probably noticed that we have a "Collectible Buick Tech and Restoration" forum here, and that's a great place to post your technical questions. We would also enjoy hearing more about your car, and invite you to tell us more about it in our "Me and My Buick" forum.

Depending upon your location, you may be close to a Buick Club of America chapter, and that's a great place for you to make contacts and gain familiarity with Buick parts vendors.

Let us know how we can help you.

Welcome: Glad to have another owner of a 1925 Standard Touring on the web. I just sold mine and have many parts including a vacumn tank, wheel bearings and dozens of other spares from a parts car which had not been touched before I bought it. I also have both the exhaust and intake manifold in excellent condition as well as two new tires, four new tubes and two new detachable rims which I had built for a project with the car for Buick Motor Division. I also have some original literature and a parts book for the car. My car was sold to Buick and is going on display in their museum. I live in Iowa and can be reached at Brooker50158

Thanks for the offer Patrick. I called the guy I bought it from and he said that the owner before him had the electric pump hooked up to pump gas into the vacum tank and probably just ran the pump every so often to keep it full. I'm gonna try that before I start getting all into replacing the tank. I just want a nice driver and if I can keep it looking original with the elec. pump that seems easy. I'll let you know on the other stuff after I get it going and drive it around a little this summer. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well there's good news and there's bad news about this site; first the bad news: I have yet to find any other sites like this one, but that's also the good news, because you've found it! All other sites that I've come across aren't at all like this one. I have a 1959 Rambler and was trying to get some advice about it; the AMC club had listing on where they were having BBQs and how much so and so could drink and how such and such was a jerk! Then you have to ask where can you get info on anything that's not one of the Big Three? There are a lot of very smart people here and you have a very high chance of getting good info!
    Cheers,
