    1955 vs 1956 exhaust manifold

    I was told the 55 R side manifold will fit the 56 on a dual exhaust car. 55 is a single exhaust. Parts book shows different part numbers. Is the diameter the same? (read somewhere 56 was wider than 55)

    It will fit and function, but I think the connection at the exhaust pipe is different: ball and flare in 56 vs flat flange and gasket in 55...
