The link above is for a 1990 silver/silver Reatta convertible (not mine). I took it for a spin earlier today and it's not bad (needs some affection).

Quick history of the car that *I* know:
Carfax says the car originated from Florida until 2000. Then up to Washington State and became a California car in 2005. Then shows it back as a Washington state registered car in November 2006. I didn't ask the owner for an explanation. Carfax report is clean.

Positives:
New black cloth top w/ glass window

Engine is smooth

No ABS concerns

No rips or tears in the seats (but they are well worn)

Paint is an 8.5 out of 10. No dents/accidents and still has a shine but there are a couple places where this is paint fade (each about 2" in diameter along the front fender). Typical stone chips on the hood, front and rear bumper exist but not excessive.

Negatives:
Left front headlight crank (possibly the motor) is troublesome and would need attention.

Both windows go down OK but on a couple occasions they either slowed to a crawl on the way up or just stopped working. Had to turn off/on the car and try again and then the windows went up....s l o w l y (passenger window much worse then driver's side). I think the problem with the driver's window is in the switch - but that's just a hunch.

The ABS/brake lights do not stay lit on the panel and work OK. But upon a panic stop the brake feel was too soft (pedal nearly to the floorboard). I mention this only because of how delicate the Teves system is and I don't know whether this is an indication of anything yet to come.

Interior trim along drivers door shakes a bit while driving and also has various areas where interior chrome/faceplates has chipped away. Center armrest and ashtray doors need a little attention.

It has 16 way seats but the switch on the side of the seat closet to your hip does not work. All other driver seat functions are OK (I didn't test the passenger seat).

The coolant resevoir was bone dry. Car didn't overheat for the 6 miles I put on the car. But the lack of attention on this matter would have me a little concerned. Dip stick showed clean oil in the crankcase. Owner said the car has no leaks (hoses looked like they were recently replaced).

Car does not have an OEM radio. It's a Delco all in one AM/FM/CD with an equalizer that worked well (as did all speakers).

The car would be a good daily driver and what I would consider road worthy with little work (headlight repair and windows). Both headlight covers open and close but its obvious the left cover will need attention soon. With some extra affection, the car can be a gem (not "judging material" but a darn nice car!). Original red pinstriping (red was original, correct?) is intact.

I have indifferent information on the current owner that I'm not comfortable posting. But it shouldn't be a deciding factor on whether or not you like this car.

FWIW, the Reatta above sold within 15 minutes of its posting on Craigslist. I spoke with the (former) owner who seems like a nice gent. Said everything was working fine on the car and sold it due to loss of garage space and minimal usage (at its asking price - he lives out of state while the car was in SoCal).

1990 Buick Reatta Convertible Original Owner

I am the original owner of 1G4EC33C8LB904171, a 1990 Red / Tan convertible. I purchased it new from Bano Buick in Bedford Hills, NY on December 12, 1990. I have all of the original documentation for the vehicle. It was a daily driver for the first few years, then only driven sporadically, and finally parked. Unfortunately it is showing signs of old age. The car is all original! Headlights won’t stay up (I’ve been meaning to fix this for years now), steering wheel leather is frayed, convertible top must be replaced, and some minor body work. The car needs some work from sitting over the last few years. If you’re in the area, come by and make me an offer. Purchased new in 1990. I have original window sticker, brochure, & most documents knowing this would be a collector car some day. I even have the original letter from Dr. John Forrette telling me about the “creation of the Reatta Club of America” dated 1993.

Everything else works and is in excellent condition. Just turned a little over 90k miles.

Conditions:

Leather: supple, no rips or tears anywhere
Rugs: always covered, look new - includes original floor mats
Paint: Nearly flawless and original. Even the pinstripes are black and look fresh.
Streering wheel: Could pass for made yesterday
Glass: All perfect and original
Tires: Get new ones. They are serviceable but new are need only from age, not tread.

Both sets of keys, owners manual with pen and all that stuff.

There are pictures of this car in the forum if you look under my name. I am perfectly willing to take pictures of any area of the car you want. When you see the pics posted on this forum you'll notice that the engine bay is cleaner than most cars fresh off the factory floor. The original owner babied the car, so have I.

It was driven in a light mist once, otherwise not in the rain and you can tell by looking under the car. Easy to tell if a car has a wipe down (you can never get into all the nooks and crannies). This one is super clean.

What does it need? Nothing. Should be a show winner.

Looking for 4k. Will deliver in the US via flatbed for expenses only (trailer rental and fuel, nothing else).

Why am I selling it? Simple, I bought a motorhome for full time and don't want to turn this into a tow car. The paint is near perfect and the glass is, would not stay that way as a towed.

Body looked straight with no damage, wheels were above average. Interior is worn but I could not see any tears or damage. Steering wheel was the worst condition but, no tears in the leather. Glass was good. Red pin stripe was faded.
