Does anyone know what the notes should be for the 4 note horn option? I have 2 F notes,1 A note (that all look to be original ) & the 4 th horn is a C note that is definatly the right sound with the other 3 horns. Two GM dealers say they should be 2 A and 2 F note horns but are not shure if there is a third note in place of the one A note horns. I pulled horns off a 80's Eldorado at the wreckers today that had 1A,1D,1C ,1F horns.I'am wondering if Riviera assembled a mix of the four notes at their own discretion when the cars came off the line?

I have two different styles of NORS Buick horn relays, with the black bakelite battery cable junction connection for sale. The 1963-1966 Rivieras use this odd piece, as do a number of other "big" Buicks from 1961 to 1966.

Note one style has an extra connection stud next to the push-on terminals. These NORS relays have never been installed. I have a couple of each style here, and most are still in their original boxes.

Check under the hood to verify your application.

The price for either style is $45 each, plus $6.50 shipping anywhere in the U.S. Thanks for looking. John in Wisconsin

I have three Riviera center hubcaps for sale. They have the black and silver "R" logo center. These are the correct caps for 1995 and 1996 Riviera, but don't recall if they are also the right logo for the 1997.

ALL of the retaining clips on the back are totally intact on each of these caps. These are the tension clips that like to break off over time!

Cap #1 in the foreground has very presentable paint. There are some scratches on the surface of the "R" emblem. I haven't attempted to polish them out.

Cap #2 in the upper right has some smaller chips in the paint. The "R" emblem is very nice.

Cap #3 in the upper left has a crack that shows in the photo. The paint is good, as is the "R" emblem.

Get all three caps for $35 total, INCLUDING shipping in the U.S. Just let me know, if you have questions. Click on the thumbnail photo to see a bigger picture. Thanks. John in Wisconsin

The Riviera email sharing list that has been a free service provided by Chris Knowles for many, many years has now ended. Chris, as it was his right to do, decided to close the server down today. I know that parts of maintaining this service to Riviera owners had stopped being fun for Chris. When some aspects of a hobby cease to be enjoyable, one certainly has to evaluate future involvement.
Hi, Chris. I could hear the anguish within you, as I read your final email to the email list a moment ago. Please accept my personal gratitude for all the good you have accomplished in furthering the Riviera collector car hobby over the years. Your dedication to all of us and the commitment of your personal time makes you a pretty special person in my book. Thank you for everything. I hope it is possible for me to personally shake your hand some day in the future. My best to you. John in Wisconsin

When I picked up my '65 Riviera the original carb and linkage was in a box. I think I have it all back together except for one part. Can somone post a picture of what attaches the horizontal throttle rod to the vertcal linkage? I have attached a picture with the area circled I am talking about (please ignore the screw - I just wanted to hear it run)

If it makes a difference it is a 401 running a Rochester 4GC.

I also attached another pic showing all of the linkage - anything else missing?

Thanks

June 21-24, 2010 - Chocolate Town U.S.A. will be the site of next year’s international meet of the Riviera Owners Association. Club members will be able to visit the many sites in this central Pennsylvania area, including a special visit to the Antique Automobile Club of America’s museum. The Hershey Gardens, Hershey Park and the newly opened Chocolate Museum are some of the other interesting places to visit in the area. The car show will be on Thursday, June 24, from 9 AM – 2 PM at the Four Points by Sheraton and the public is invited to view the cars.

Again this year ROA has invited members of the Toronado Owners Association to join us. You may also want to stay over the following weekend to attend the GM Nationals at nearby Carlisle. For more details and a reservation form visit our website: Welcome to the Riviera Owners Association Homepage.

Is there a better way to do this than as a two man job jamming the fly wheel while applying torque?
I looked under the seat and it looks like only one side is powered. Does the other side just need a little grease? Do you usually have to take the seat out and degrease the track or can I just spray something on there?

Hi,
Ok, had a loss of power, engine kill, at highway speed, and goosed it home.
Seemed to die/kill fade, under load, sometimes, minor load, slight hill.

Service scan for engine soon code said needed a new mass air sensor, all plugs, wires, coil pacs checked out fine.

so, got a reman sensor, installed it, and no improvement.

Took it to Autozone to have them check the code, they said description is "low input TO the mass air sensor."

I see it looks like both front and back Ox sensors feed the mass air. Is that possible, that one or both of them are bad?

Any help appreciated.
The screen came up to the radio, the blower kicked in, but it didn't want to change modes. I know the wiring is differant and that is my guess why it did what it did.

The power steering oil cooler on my 92 Riviera has developed a leak due to a rust-through on one of the pipes. It looks like a home hot water baseboard w/ copper tubing and fins. It sits forward and bottom of the radiator - driver's side. I've tried all kinds of GM suppliers (incl RockAuto) but all have discontinued stocking it. Does anyone out there know of a compatible unit from another car that will fit?
Thanks...

We just took this car in on trade. It is truly unbelievable how nice this car is. This is most definitely a one of a kind car. The guy who traded it in said that it was the demo of the Buick dealer's wife. I guess she wouldn't give it up and put about 20,000 miles on it. The guy who traded it in obviously babied it. I didn't even do a full detail on this one, it pretty much came in how it looks in the pictures. The close up pics under the hood are just to show how clean it is. It's not on our website yet, but I'll put a link to some pictures. I will be putting this car on our showroom floor, which is normally unheard of for a 12 year old car.

Hello,
I was able to pick-up a '93 low mileage Riv. this week. It needs some TLC but is cleaning up nicely. I have some questions that perhaps some of you can help me with:
1) How are the SD and SE models different?
2) I noticed in the '93 brochure that some of the cars have a different color
below the belt line, does anyone know the color combinations that came
from the factory?
3) I've checked the module in the trunk and it doesn't have the green wire
tail that I'm used to seeing in my Reattas, are all models able to be
programmed for remote door/light/trunk use?
4) What year body and interiors are interchangable with the '93? I'd guess the
drivetrain would be the same from '91 to 93, correct?
5) Are the aluminum wheels common on the used market?
6) Is the cupholder rubber available anywhere?

Thanks in advance for the help, I've always liked this bodystyle and the right one finally came along,

Well, it was a nice day here in the foothills of the Rockies, so I decided to get the '64 out of my garage, and over to the shop space I'm leasing.

Not much to show, really, but I always love seeing pics of projects in progress, so I thought I'd post these.

Next steps are to finish gutting the interior, cut and replace rusty floor pan sections as well as under body pan support channel, and replace the trunk pan.

I got all excited again, seeing that 'PP' Teal Mist color out in the sun. :)

cheers

Responded to a local Craigs List ad selling a 66 Riviera GS (actually a 68) for $500, less engine. The seller sounds younger and even said he had more important things to do then sell this car. He was very motivated to sell, but not to do any of the response work. Dropped the price to $300. It took 3 emails to get him to call me.

But.... he says it is complete less the 430, is fully equipped GS including buckets and console, Buick road wheels and center caps and is actually a 68/69.

I am debating either a parts car strip it purchase or as a future restoration project. It's actually only 10 minutes away, but I am gone from November 5 through November 10 on vacation.

What do you guys think? Are there enough parts and enough demand to make it worth my while parting this out over the winter?
